  • Why the Lumenis Stellar M22 Outperforms Sciton BBL and Moxi: A Superior Choice Backed by Patented Technology

In the world of aesthetic laser treatments, choosing the right system for your practice or personal skincare goals is key to achieving the best results. Two popular contenders in this space are the Lumenis Stellar M22 and Sciton’s BBL and Moxi systems. While all three devices offer excellent skin rejuvenation solutions, the Lumenis Stellar M22 stands out for several reasons, making it the preferred choice for many practitioners AND patients.

Here’s why the Lumenis Stellar M22 outshines Sciton BBL and Moxi:

    1. Multi-Technology Platform

The Lumenis Stellar M22 is not just a single-function device—it’s a multi-application platform designed to treat over 30 skin conditions with one system. From IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) to Nd:YAG and ResurFX fractional non-ablative lasers, the Stellar M22 combines multiple technologies into a versatile machine. This ability to perform a wide range of treatments—from acne scar reduction to skin resurfacing and vascular lesions—offers unparalleled flexibility.

In comparison, the Sciton BBL (BroadBand Light) is primarily a light-based therapy, excellent for targeting pigmentation issues and improving skin texture. The Moxi is a non-ablative laser that focuses on light skin resurfacing for those looking for gentle treatments with minimal downtime. However, both devices are limited to their specific technologies, whereas the Stellar M22 allows a comprehensive approach with its all-in-one system, enabling practitioners to provide a wider array of treatments without needing multiple devices.

    2. Patented Technology: Sciton’s Use of Lumenis Innovations

What many people don’t realize is that Sciton’s BBL system is built using Lumenis patents. Lumenis has been a pioneer in the development of IPL technology, and many of the fundamental innovations behind the success of devices like BBL were originally developed and patented by Lumenis. By using IPL technology derived from Lumenis, Sciton essentially leverages Lumenis’ groundbreaking work while packaging it into their own system.

The Lumenis Stellar M22, however, is the original source of this technology and has continued to evolve its IPL capabilities beyond what Sciton offers. With Lumenis’ leadership in the field, you’re getting the most advanced, proprietary technology with the Stellar M22—direct from the inventors of IPL.

    3. Advanced Cooling and Safety Features

Comfort and safety are always a priority in aesthetic treatments. The Stellar M22 features a state-of-the-art CoolScan™ system, which offers precise contact cooling during treatments. This feature not only enhances patient comfort but also protects the skin from excessive heat, allowing for higher energy levels without the risk of burns or discomfort.

While Sciton Moxi and BBL offer cooling features as well, the CoolScan™ technology of the Stellar M22 is more advanced, offering superior thermal regulation and enabling safer, more comfortable treatments across a wider range of skin types.

    4. Versatility Across Skin Types

Another area where the Lumenis Stellar M22 pulls ahead is its ability to treat a wide range of skin tones. Its patented OPT™ (Optimal Pulse Technology) and multiple filters allow for the treatment of various skin types, including darker skin tones, with reduced risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) or other side effects.

Sciton’s BBL and Moxi, while effective on lighter skin tones, have more limitations when it comes to treating darker skin types safely and effectively. Lumenis has invested significantly in making their technology adaptable to a diverse patient base, ensuring better outcomes for a larger segment of the population.

    5. Cost-Effectiveness and Efficiency

With Lumenis Stellar M22, you’re getting multiple technologies in one device, which not only saves space in a clinic but also reduces the need to purchase multiple machines for different treatments. This versatility also means more efficiency in terms of patient throughput, clinics can treat multiple conditions with fewer sessions.

In contrast, investing in both Sciton BBL and Moxi to cover the range of treatments that the Stellar M22 offers would require more capital investment and result in increased costs over time, from maintenance to consumables.

    Conclusion

While Sciton’s BBL and Moxi systems are strong contenders in the aesthetic laser market, the Lumenis Stellar M22 offers a superior blend of versatility, innovation, and cost-effectiveness. Built on a foundation of patented technology that Sciton itself utilizes, the Stellar M22 remains the leader in advanced IPL and laser treatments. With better adaptability for all skin types, state-of-the-art cooling technology, and the flexibility to treat a wide range of skin conditions, the Lumenis Stellar M22 truly delivers more for both practitioners and patients alike.

For those seeking cutting-edge treatments with proven, patented technology, the Stellar M22 is clearly the top choice.
